I was in Liverpool at the weekend and came across a free photography exhibition at the Walker art gallery. Its called ‘Like you’ve never been away’ by Paul Trevor.
He spent some time in the deprived areas of Liverpool in 1975 and has produced a series of black and white images. I really enjoyed the exhibition, while i’ve not had much exerience of socila photography, I fond it very interesting and moving to see how deprived and poor the area seemed, yet how much there was of a sense of community and even fun despite the lack of money or quality housing.
Its part of the Look 11 festival so I’m hoping to get back and see some more work in the other galleries.
